For historicals, nobody can beat Margaret George. If you havenŐt read her books on Cleopatra, King Henry, or Mary Queen of Scots, you must. I did not pick up Mary Magdalen, her latest tome, because I am not interested in the character, but the rest of her reads are spectacular.
